A simple, full-of-flavour, tasty, low-carb, sauteed cabbage that's easy to make and pairs well with most dishes

  • 5 cups cabbage cored and sliced into thin strips (about 1/2 medium cabbage). Can use coleslaw mix
  • 2 medium carrots shredded
  • 1/2 medium onion chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes optional.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp chicken bouillon
  • salt and pepper to taste if not using bouillon


  • Add butter and oil to the skillet over medium heat.
  • Add onion and saute until it starts to brown then add garlic
  • Sautee for 1 minute keeping in mind not to burn the garlic. Add cabbage then sautee for about 3 minutes.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for another 3-5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and serve.
