My sister made these sometime back and I just had to borrow the recipe. I’ve made them so many times since then and decided to share them with you guys. To prepare this, you will need;

Ingredients

For marinating
  • 900g chicken wings or 20 pieces of wings
  • Juice from 1 medium lemon
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 2 tbsp chicken broth mix
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
For the sauce
  • 1/8 cup ketchup
  • 1/8 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Sesame seeds, scallions, or parsley to garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix all the marinade ingredients in a medium bowl. If you have time, cover and marinate for up to 24 hours.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the chicken wings in a single layer.
  4. Bake for 30 minutes flip, then bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until crispy
  5. Meanwhile, in a medium pan, add the butter, barbecue sauce, ketchup and garlic powder and bring to a gentle boil.
  6. Add in the baked chicken and toss to combine.
  7. Garnish and serve hot and enjoy!
