Easy French Toast Recipe
This classic, simple yet comforting recipe delivers a crispy outside and a soft, custardy center. Served with maple syrup, powdered sugar, and fruits of choice. I prefer these with blueberries or strawberries to balance the sweetness. It’s perfect for weekend brunches or special breakfasts.

4 slices white bread thick, I used brioche 2 large eggs 1/4 cup buttermilk or regular milk 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1 tbsp sugar 2 tbsp olive oil or butter 1/8 tsp salt or to taste
In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Ensure the mixture is smooth for even coating
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Melt a small amount of butter
Soak each slice of bread in the egg mixture for a few seconds on each side, making sure it absorbs the batter without becoming soggy.
Cook the bread slices until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown
Serve the French toast with your choice of toppings, such as maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream or fresh fruit.
