Tasty Ahi Tuna Steak Recipe
A mouth-watering, bold and flavourful tuna steak loaded with vegetables
Ingredients
- 2 tuna steaks
- 2 tbsp olive oil or canola
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 pinch red pepper flakes optional
- 2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup I used Heinz no sugar ketchup
- 1 cup diced zucchini
- 1/2 medium bell pepper sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms sliced
- Black pepper and salt to taste
- 1 clove garlic minced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, pepper flakes, fish sauce, and ketchup then set aside
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a non stick pan
- Add the steak sear for 2 min without moving. Flip and cook for another 3 min or cooked to preference. Do not over cook, otherwise you'll end up with a dry steak.
- Remove steak and set aside on a plate
- Add the remaining olive oil and butter and add mushrooms. Sautee until it caramelizes.
- Add the rest of the vegetables and sauté for 1-2 minutes
- Add the sauce mixture and stir evenly. Cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens then remove and serve it over the tuna.
