Tasty Ahi Tuna Recipe

A mouth-watering, bold and flavourful tuna steak loaded with vegetables

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tuna steaks
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or canola
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp ketchup I used Heinz no sugar ketchup
  • 1 cup diced zucchini
  • 1/2 medium bell pepper sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • Black pepper and salt to taste
  • 1 clove garlic minced

Instructions
 

  • In a medium bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, pepper flakes, fish sauce, and ketchup then set aside
  • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a non stick pan
  • Add the steak sear for 2 min without moving. Flip and cook for another 3 min or cooked to preference. Do not over cook, otherwise you'll end up with a dry steak.
  • Remove steak and set aside on a plate
  • Add the remaining olive oil and butter and add mushrooms. Sautee until it caramelizes.
  • Add the rest of the vegetables and sauté for 1-2 minutes
  • Add the sauce mixture and stir evenly. Cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens then remove and serve it over the tuna.
