Cabbage Sausage Skillet: Easy One-Pan Dinner in 30 Min
Make this hearty Cabbage Sausage skillet in one pan, in 30 minutes! Smoky sausage, bacon, Cajun spices, and tender cabbage make for a low-carb weeknight dinner the family loves.
4smoked sausages (Your choice of sausage, cut lengthwise)
4stripsof bacondiced
1mediumonion sliced thin
1tspgarlicminced
1mediumred bell peppersliced
1mediumcabbagewith core removed and chopped
1tbspcajun seasoning (adjust according to preference)
1/4cupbutter
1/2tspcrushed pepper(optional, adjust to taste)
1tspchopped scallions to garnish
Instructions
In a medium skillet, cook bacon until brown.
Add the sausages, sautee for 2 minutes then add the garlic and onion and sautee for another 2 minutes. Add butter and continue to cook until it melts and is bubbly.
Add the cajun seasoning and mix well to combine.
Add the cabbage and cover. Cook for 5 minutes
Take off the lid and mix by stirring. Once it softens, add the bell pepper and stir again. You can remove them from the stove at this point if you like the bell peppers crunchy, or cover and simmer for an additional 2 minutes.
Taste and adjust salt to taste. Serve and sprinkle scallions to garnish.
