EQUIPMENT

  • 1 jug/pitcher
  • 1 Lemon squeezer

Directions

Step 1
Start with the syrup by boiling the water and then adding the sweetener to dissolve.
Step 2
Add the syrup to a large pitcher followed by the lemon.
Step 3
Add 3 cups of water and stir well to combine.
Step 4
Taste and add more water if needed.
Step 5
Place in the fridge to chill.
Step 6
Serve chilled with ice and lemon slices if desired.

Note's

  1. To reduce cleaning time and equipment, you could boil water in a kettle and then add to the pitcher together with the sweetener. Stir vigorously, let sit for a few minutes then stir again. Repeat until it dissolves.
  2. If you are not watching your sugar intake, pls feel free to substitute with white sugar
  3. Unless completely out, do not substitute fresh lemon juice for ready-made store lemon juice. It will not taste the same.
  4. The lemonade is best drank right away but can stay in the fridge for up to 5-7 days.

Lemon Ingredients

This recipe is so easy to make and you’ll probably have most of the ingredients on hand

Water and sweetener

This will be the first step to take. Erythritol takes longer to dissolve than regular sugar so you would need more time to let it dissolve. if there’s still sweetener sitting at the bottom, let it sit for a few minutes then stir and repeat until it fully dissolves.

Lemon Juice

Freshly squeezed lemon is the best to use in this recipe. It will give your lemonade a refreshing taste. However, if you do not have fresh at hand, you can use bottled lemon juice but please note that the taste will not be the same. You can also use half fresh and half frozen if you run out the fresh ones.

Ice

If preferred, add ice right before serving or you can skip this part if you do not want it diluted.

Preparations

To help release the juices, start by rolling the lemon on the counter. Wash the lemons and dry them. If using the lemon squeeze, slice the ends of the lemon to make it easier to insert and squeeze, then slice into half widthwise. Place it into the squeezer and squeeze the juices. If you don’t have a squeezer, slice the lemon into half widthwise then squeeze out the juice. Set aside

Syrup

Combine sweetener/sugar with water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. You want to give it some time to boil especially if using erythritol as it may take a while to dissolve before adding the rest of the ingredients. Refrigerate to cool.

Serve

You can serve as is or over ice. You could also garnish your glass with lemon peel

Storage

I have kept lemonade in my fridge for up to 7 days and it still tasted great. Pour the lemonade into a covered pitcher then store it in the fridge for up to 7 days if you’ll be lucky enough to keep it that long.
